John Parkyn

John ParkynJohn Parkyn has worked for newspapers in New Zealand and England. He has published short stories in the NZ Listener and Experiment, Mate, Brief, Takahe and Fresh magazines. His interest in Latin America led him to visit Nicaragua in the 1980s during the Sandinista revolution. From this experience sprung the background for The Ambush. He has now settled in Mexico with his wife, Elizabeth Romero Mejia, and their french poodle, Hermione.

Bryan Winters

Bryan WintersBryan Winters is an ageing surfer - the older he gets, the better he was. He lives on the beachfront at Mount Maunganui with his darling wife Rosie Joy. A clutch of grown up children visit if the rellies aren't there, or he and Rosie haven't gone camping or travelling to some budget country. Bryan does I.T. marketing work and writes fiction and non-fiction, besides coping with all the creative, bolshy, wonderful writers in Oceanbooks.

Suzanne Singleton

After a lifetime writing academic essays and reports, Suzanne Singleton writes fiction. She has observed a variety of people and places throughout many years as a psychologist and educator. Her work in New Zealand and England have provided wide travelling experiences. These days, most travel involves vintage car jaunts in the countryside with husband Ray and trips to visit children and grandchildren. The Promise is her first book. 

Jillian Sullivan

Jillian SullivanJillian Sullivan is published in New Zealand and America including four novels, Shreve’s Promise, What About Bo? (Scholastic) Silverstream and Rat Keeper Cat Keeper (Pearson); three collections of short stories, Hey Tony (Orchard Press), Launched and Other Stories, and Myths and Legends: The Gift of Stories to our Cultures (Pearson); and a book on writing, Fishing from the Boat Ramp: a Guide to Creating (Steele Roberts).  Correne Walmsley

Correne WalmsleySkye and the Lost Relic is Correne’s debut novel for young adults, and the first in a trilogy featuring Skye, her dog Roma and her friends. Correne tells us, “Events that I’ve written about are based on Maori histories. Most Europeans regard them as myths because they can’t be scientifically explained. I believe they did happen."

 Nikki Slade-Robinson

Nikki Slade-RobinsonNikki Slade Robinson has been illustrating children’s books since 1989.  She has written 3 other titles: ‘That’s not Junk!’, ‘ Hannah Bandanna’s Hair’, and ‘Munkle Arvur and the Bod’.  She co-created ‘In Love with Moko: The Story of a New Zealand Dolphin’ with fellow author Val Bird.  And she’s illustrated well over 60 titles over the years including ‘The Seven Stars of Matariki’ and ‘Mind Your Gramma’.Nikki also illustrates commercially.  She lives in the Eastern Bay of Plenty with her husband, children and assorted animals (along with a rather jumbled vege garden which the goat doesn’t often manage to get in to). 

 

 Luke Williamson

Luke WilliamsonLuke Williamson grew up in Devonport, Auckland. He spent his formative years on the beach, developing into a surfer after trips around the country with his surfing brothers and friends.Luke is a partner with his brother Matthew in Halcyon Design Ltd, a graphic design studio. Luke lives in Warkworth with his wife Karen and children, Isaac and Pearl. He is still a keen surfer, bodysurfer and ocean swimmer, taking advantage of the beautiful beaches around Warkworth.


Warren Parkinson

Warren ParkinsonWarren Parkinson is a Nutritionist, Iridologist and Touch therapist who lives in the Bay of Plenty N.Z.  He did his formal training in America while living and working at a Health Retreat owned by Dr Bill Saunders. Warren has owned and operated two Health Retreats, in the Coromandel and Waikato areas. He has travelled widely throughout the world, continually studying the holistic approach to health, happiness and prosperity for all.

 

Susan Tarr

Susan TarrSusan Tarr has been writing for 25 years. The stories in her historic SEACLIFF: A Regular Boy Within have been blended from recollections of what probably did happen during the book's setting. She worked in Mental Health, Govenrnment Printing, Education Board and Social Welfare before sailing to Kenya, where she raised her family. While she always has a book or two on the go, she is also busy proofreading for others.

 

Jan Pendergrast

Jan PrendergastJan Pendergrast lives with husband, Hans, on their farm in Oropi. This rural lifestyle, native birds and the forest next door inspire her writing. She based Dam Disaster on the efforts of her sons to build a dam in a gully. Jan’s first book, Tui’s Friends, is about a bossy tui’s week.
